Covid-19 Procedures

To Our Loyal Clients,

As per the Phase 2 Coronavirus Restoration Plan announced by the Government of Manitoba, Total Look will begin to offer Esthetic services as of June 1, 2020 by appointment only. We will continue to provide Hair Services as per the Phase 1 guidelines.

The health, safety and well-being of our guests and employees continues to be our highest priority and we will be following the lead of Canadian public health authorities at this important time. First and foremost, I want to assure our guests that we are taking all appropriate measures to ensure our salon is safe.

As per the guidelines, the following will be in effect as of Monday, June 1st:

  • All guests and staff will be required to maintain a physical distance of at least two metres, except when receiving services or brief exchanges.
  • Occupancy in the salon will be limited to no more than 13 persons at all times as per the Provincial occupancy guidelines of one person per 10 square metres.
  • Guests having services may purchase products at the time of their service.
  • Products are also available for curbside pickup and can be ordered by telephone.
  • Staff and guests must use the self-screening tool before booking an appointment. This tool is available at https://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/.
  • Employees must stay home when ill with COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Guests will be screened when an appointment is booked and are not given an appointment if they have COVID-19 symptoms.
  • People identified as symptomatic will be instructed to call Health Links - Info Santé.
  • Staff will be given information about physical distancing and will ensure both they and the guests adhere to the rules. Staff will regulate entry and exit into and from the business to regulate traffic flow.
  • Guests will only be allowed into the salon by appointment. When you arrive, please call the receptionist to notify them you have arrived. They will then give you further instructions.
  • Guests should attend alone, without friends or family. If a guest requires assistance, please inform the receptionist when booking your appointment and arrangements will be made.
  • Appointment times and traffic flow will be managed to allow physical distancing and to maintain occupancy levels.
  • There will be signs and markings indicating COVID-19 physical distancing protocols, along with floor markings where services are offered or lines form.
  • Hand sanitizer is available upon entry and at all stations for public and staff use.
  • Guests must sanitize hands upon entry to facility and prior to using the debit machine.
  • Proper handwashing protocols must be followed at all times.
  • Workstations have been reconfigured to ensure they are two metres apart.
  • Workstations, equipment, instruments and capes be sanitized between patrons. Equipment, instruments and material that cannot be disinfected between guests will not be reused.
  • Washrooms will be sanitized frequently and a regime for business sanitization is in place.
  • Snacks, coffee and other beverages will not be available and we ask guests not to bring food or drink into the salon.
  • Guests are asked to limit the items brought into the salon (ie, purses, jackets, etc).
  • Both service providers and guests will wear non-medical masks, particularly when close touch or contact is involved. It is preferred that guests have their own masks but the salon does have masks available for use. Cloth masks will be sanitized between uses. We also have cloth masks available for purchase.
  • For personal services to the face where the client is unable to wear a non-medical mask, the technicians will a medical mask or equivalent. They may also use other options such as having the client remove their face covering for brief periods during the service and positioning to avoid being directly face to face across from the client (eg. Position to side of client).
  • Service providers may wear protective gloves when providing service particularly when close touch or contact is involved.
  • Cashless or no-contact payment should be used to the greatest extent possible.

We will continue to provide services to our guests and are committed to monitoring this situation closely. We will share ongoing updates as needed in regards to any changes in operations. We also encourage our guests to stay up-to-date through Canada’s Public Health website.
